BEEP Scheme 2023 Sucklers
BEEP-S 2023 Environmental Efficiency Programme Sucklers
This Scheme is open to all suckler farmers who have an active herd number, will submit a Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) application in 2022 and have calves (beef sire x beef dam) born in their herd between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022.
The objective of BEEP-S is to improve and target the efficient weaning of suckler cows and calves, by recording the live weight of the cow and the calf prior to weaning. It also contains options to improve the welfare of the calf at weaning and the control liver and rumen fluke in the adult cow.
You can apply for the Beef Environmental Efficiency Programme – Sucklers (Beep S) if you:
• Are the owner of an active herd number with Herd Owner status
• Submit a Basic Payment Scheme application in 2022
• had suckler calves born in your herd between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022
• agree to complete what is known as the “mandatory action” Weighing action of the suckler cow and her calf.

All suckler calves (beef sire x beef dam) born from 1st Jul 2021 – 30th June 2022 and their dams. Calves must be weighed before they are weaned. Cows and calves must be weighed on the same day. Qualifying cow & calf units whose weights are recorded on the ICBF Database will be eligible for payment.
